ASB awareness week

During the national ASB awareness week, the local focus hubs, part of the Cumberland Community Safety Team, have delivered workshops to over one hundred year 9 and 10 children in West Cumbria.

These sessions encouraged a discussion about ‘What does community mean to you?’ and ‘What do you love about where you live?’

The local focus hub team also worked through ‘real life’ Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) scenarios, considering how it would feel to be a victim of ASB and discussed how poor decision making can affect employability later on in life.

The children from Workington Academy, Netherhall, West Lakes Academy, St Josephs and Cockermouth School were extremely engaging and a fabulous example of the power of the youth voice in Cumberland.
